Best Pod Systems for Beginners in Malaysia (2026): Our Picks by Need

Last updated: 29 October 2026. Picks by Cloud Express, based on the specs we publish for each device. We sell every device listed here.

There’s no single best pod system for everyone. The right one depends on whether you want to refill, how long you need the battery to last and which pods you can easily buy. So instead of one winner, here are our picks by need, with the facts behind each one.

Simplest start: NCIG Cube

The NCIG Cube is draw-activated: no buttons, no settings, just insert a pod and inhale. It’s a compact, ergonomic cube with USB Type-C charging, and it uses NCIG Pro Prefilled Pods (2ml, 20mg salt nicotine, about 500–600 puffs each). If you later want more battery, the NCIG Pro takes the same pods.

Longer battery: NCIG Pro Pod

The NCIG Pro Pod has a 500mAh battery that lasts roughly 2 to 3 days on a charge, depending on use, plus USB Type-C fast charging. It also has a safety lock that’s on by default: the LED glows pink when locked, and you unlock it by reinserting the pod 3 times quickly. Compare it with the Cube in NCIG Cube vs NCIG Pro.

Most pod choice: Syokpod V2

Not being able to find your usual pod is a common frustration. The Syokpod V2 avoids it by taking several pod brands: KOHS / Syokpod, BOGAPOD, NXPOD, Serapod Cellera and Nanopod. It also has an indicator screen, an on/off switch so it won’t fire in your pocket, and USB Type-C charging. See every pod that fits in Syokpod V2 compatible pods.

Newest Syokpod: Syokpod V3

The Syokpod V3 has a premium platinum body, a battery level indicator, a faster firing response and Type-C fast charging. It uses KOHS (Syokpod) cartridges. Not sure between the two? Read Syokpod V2 vs V3.

Two modes and a child lock: Boldpod Onyx

The Boldpod Onyx has Eco Mode (green light) to save battery and Regular Mode (blue light) for full flavour, switched with a single press. Five quick presses turn it on or off, and it has a child lock system. A Type-C to Type-C cable comes in the box. It uses BPOD 2ml cartridges.

Smallest ASDF: Neura

The ASDF Neura is a compact 400mAh plug-and-play device made for ASDF Quiid 2ml pods. For charging on the go there’s the Neura Pocket Charger Box. See how it fits with the rest of the range in our ASDF compatibility guide.

First refillable: Aladdin Pro PE511 or ASDF Core

If you want to choose your own e-liquid, start with an open pod. The Aladdin Pro PE511 Starter Kit is draw-activated, has an aluminium alloy body and a large 15ml cartridge, and takes saltnic, freebase or HTPC. The ASDF Core is a slim stick with a 3ml cartridge in 0.4Ω or 0.6Ω. Read how to refill an open pod before your first fill.

How to choose in three questions

  1. Do you want to refill? No: pick a closed pod. Yes: pick an open pod. See open pod vs closed pod.
  2. Which pods can you get easily? Choose a device whose pods you’ll always be able to buy, or one that takes several brands, like the Syokpod V2.
  3. How long must the battery last? If you’re out all day, look for a bigger battery (like the NCIG Pro’s 500mAh) or a portable charger.

FAQs

What’s the easiest pod system for a complete beginner?

A draw-activated closed pod, like the NCIG Cube. There’s nothing to fill and no button to press.

Are closed pods or open pods better for beginners?

Closed pods are simpler. Open pods give more flavour choice but need refilling and the right e-liquid for the coil. Our e-liquid guide helps if you go open.
