Burnt taste
- Closed pods and disposables: a burnt taste usually means it’s out of liquid. Replace it.
- Open pods: refill before the tank runs dry. With a new cartridge or coil, wait a few minutes after filling so the cotton can soak before your first puff.
- Chain vaping: taking puffs back-to-back doesn’t give the cotton time to re-soak. Pause between puffs.
- Still burnt after a refill and a soak? The coil is worn out. Replace the cartridge, or just the coil if yours takes OCC coils.
Leaking
- Reseat the pod. Push it in firmly until it clicks.
- Don’t overfill open pods. Leave a small air gap at the top. See how to refill an open pod.
- Close the fill plug firmly after refilling.
- Wipe the pod and the device contacts with a dry tissue.
- Cracked pod? Stop using it and replace it.
Gurgling or spitting
Liquid has got into the centre air tube, usually from overfilling or from dripping liquid into the tube while refilling. Take the pod out, tip out the excess, wipe the mouthpiece and take a few gentle puffs.
Won’t fire
- Is it locked or switched off? See the device notes below.
- Is the battery flat? Charge it with a USB Type-C cable.
- Is the pod seated properly? Take it out, wipe the contacts and push it back in until it clicks.
- Is it the right pod? Pods aren’t universal. Check the “Works with” list on the product page, or our pod compatibility table.
Device notes: locks and switches

| NCIG Pro Pod | The safety lock is on by default, and the LED glows pink when locked. Remove and reinsert the pod 3 times quickly. The device vibrates and the light turns blue when it’s unlocked. |
| Boldpod Onyx | Five quick presses turn it on or off. It also has a child lock system. When fully charged, it vibrates longer and the indicator light turns off. |
| Syokpod V2 | Check the on/off switch, which stops it firing in your pocket. |
| NCIG Cube and other draw-activated devices | No button: just inhale. If it doesn’t fire, reseat the pod and check the battery. |
Weak flavour or thin vapour
- The pod may be nearly empty. Refill or replace it.
- The coil may be worn. Replace the cartridge or coil.
- On devices with power modes, such as the Boldpod Onyx, Eco Mode saves battery. Switch to Regular Mode for full flavour.

FAQs
Why does my new pod taste burnt?
For an open pod, the cotton probably wasn’t soaked yet. Fill it and wait a few minutes before vaping. For a closed pod, contact us on WhatsApp.
Why is my NCIG Pro light pink?
The safety lock is on. Remove and reinsert the pod 3 times quickly to unlock it. The light turns blue when it’s ready.
Is it safe to use a leaking pod?
Wipe up any liquid and keep it off your skin. If the pod is cracked, stop using it and replace it.
